Who we are

Spend Enough is made by Melru Software LLC. You can reach us at support@spendenough.com.

The short version

The app runs in your browser. The numbers you enter never leave your device. We do not have accounts, so we do not have a database of users. If you buy the paid version, our payment processor collects your email and payment details, and we receive your email address and a license key. We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and a handful of events so we can tell whether the app is working for people. That is the whole list.

What we collect, and why

Your financial inputs. Savings, income, spending, ages, and everything else you type into the app are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device so they are still there when you come back. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them. If you save a scenario, it stays in your browser unless you choose to share it.

Your license key. When you unlock the paid version, the key is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. When you enter a key, and about once a day afterwards, the app sends the key (and only the key) to Lemon Squeezy to confirm it is still valid. Nothing you type into the planner is included.

Your email address, at purchase only. If you buy the paid version, Lemon Squeezy collects your email address, payment method, and billing details. We receive your email address, the product you bought, and your license key. We use your email to deliver the license key, send receipts, and handle refunds and support. We do not add you to a marketing list unless you separately ask to be on one.

Analytics. We use [ANALYTICS PROVIDER] to count page views and a small number of events (for example, that a scenario was run, that the unlock screen was shown, or that a purchase completed). The intent is that this data cannot identify you and does not include any of the numbers you enter.

TODO: confirm with the chosen provider and state precisely whether cookies are set, whether IP addresses are stored or truncated, and whether any identifier persists between visits.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, may record standard technical information when your browser requests the site, such as IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. We use this only to keep the site running and to diagnose problems.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information.
We do not have your financial inputs, so we cannot see, share, or lose them.
We do not run advertising or share data with ad networks.
We do not build a profile of you.

Third parties

We rely on a few services to run the product. Each has its own privacy policy that governs the data it handles directly.

Lemon Squeezy (planned: Lemon Squeezy), which processes payments, collects sales tax as the merchant of record, and delivers license keys.
[ANALYTICS PROVIDER], for anonymous usage counts.
Netlify, which serves the site.
jsDelivr, a content delivery network that serves the Chart.js charting library the app uses, and Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces. Your browser requests those files directly from them.

Where data is kept and for how long

Your inputs stay in your browser until you clear them. Purchase records (email, product, license key) are kept for as long as we need them to support your license, comply with tax and accounting law, and handle refunds and disputes. Analytics data is kept according to [ANALYTICS PROVIDER]'s retention policy.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your inputs at any time by clearing the app's data in your browser. You can ask us to delete your purchase email by writing to support@spendenough.com; we will do so unless we need to keep a record for tax, accounting, or dispute purposes, in which case we will tell you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will help.

TODO: if selling to EU/UK residents through Lemon Squeezy, confirm whether Melru Software LLC is a controller for the purchase email and add the required GDPR disclosures (legal basis, international transfer mechanism). If selling to California residents, review CCPA thresholds.

Children

The app is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, post a notice in the app.
