Who we are

Spend Enough is made by Melru Software LLC. You can reach us at support@spendenough.com.

The short version

The app runs in your browser. The numbers you enter never leave your device. We do not have accounts, so we do not have a database of users. If you buy the paid version, our payment processor collects your email and payment details, and we receive your email address and a license key. We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and a handful of events so we can tell whether the app is working for people. That is the whole list.

What we collect, and why

Your financial inputs. Savings, income, spending, ages, and everything else you type into the app are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device so they are still there when you come back. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them. If you save a scenario, it stays in your browser unless you choose to share it.

Your license key. When you unlock the paid version, the key is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. When you enter a key, and about once a day afterwards, the app sends the key (and only the key) to Lemon Squeezy to confirm it is still valid. Nothing you type into the planner is included.

Your email address, at purchase only. If you buy the paid version, Lemon Squeezy collects your email address, payment method, and billing details. We receive your email address, the product you bought, and your license key. We use your email to deliver the license key, send receipts, and handle refunds and support. We do not add you to a marketing list unless you separately ask to be on one.

Analytics. We do not use analytics or tracking scripts, and the app sets no cookies. If that ever changes, this page will say which service is used and what it records.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Netlify, may record standard technical information when your browser requests the site, such as IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. We use this only to keep the site running and to diagnose problems. Netlify keeps those logs for a limited time under its own privacy policy; we do not export or keep copies.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not have your financial inputs, so we cannot see, share, or lose them.
• We do not run advertising or share data with ad networks.
• We do not build a profile of you.

Third parties

We rely on a few services to run the product. Each has its own privacy policy that governs the data it handles directly.

• Lemon Squeezy, which processes payments, collects sales tax as the merchant of record, and delivers license keys.
• Netlify, which serves the site.
• jsDelivr, a content delivery network that serves the Chart.js charting library the app uses, and Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces. Your browser requests those files directly from them.

Where data is kept and for how long

Your inputs stay in your browser until you clear them. Purchase records (email, product, license key) are kept for as long as we need them to support your license, comply with tax and accounting law, and handle refunds and disputes.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your inputs at any time by clearing the app's data in your browser. You can ask us to delete your purchase email by writing to support@spendenough.com; we will do so unless we need to keep a record for tax, accounting, or dispute purposes, in which case we will tell you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or restrict the use of your personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will help.

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for purchases. It collects and holds your payment details under its own privacy policy, and it is the party that sells to you if you are outside the United States. We receive your email address and the license key, and we keep them only for the purposes above.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or California

Spend Enough is built for people in the United States, but anyone can use it, so here is what applies if your local law gives you extra rights.

What we hold and why. The only personal data we hold is the email address and license key from a purchase. We hold them to deliver and support the license you bought, which is our contract with you, and to keep the records that tax and accounting law require. We do not profile you, we do not sell or share personal data, and we do not use it for marketing.

Where it is. We are in the United States, and so are Lemon Squeezy and Netlify. If you are in the EU or the UK, your purchase is made with Lemon Squeezy as the seller, and it is responsible for the payment data under its own policy. The email and key we receive are held in the United States under the standard contractual clauses that Lemon Squeezy and our providers use for transfers.

Your rights. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask for a copy, or object to our use of it, by emailing support@spendenough.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for asking; we do not sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms, and we never have.

Children

The app is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, post a notice in the app.
